In 1922, blinded by an accident and confined to his home, Dr. Gustaf
Dalen, Swedish physicist and Nobel Prize Laureate, soon realized how much of his wife's time was devoted to food
preparation. To help her, Dalen invented a faster, more efficient oven. The result was the AGA Cooker, which uses radiant
heat to power two large ovens and two wide hotplates at once. A full-sized AGA Cooker can roast, bake, steam, simmer, fry,
stew, grill, boil, broil, and toast simultaneously. Today, each handcrafted cooker is still cast at Coalbrookdale Iron
Foundry in
England by AGA, a division of Aga Food Service Group.
